The Sassy Steel Magnolia

I’m not from Seymore, Indiana but I grew up in a Small Town just like it. A place where front porch sittin’ and out door livin’ are a way of life. If you aren’t from one, you may not understand the simple wonders that come from being there. But don’t worry, ol’ John Cougar Mellencamp sums it up pretty well in this week’s Music Snack – Small Town.

Some say small towns are backwards….and slow. Well, I’m here to say that I was raised in a Small Town (a few of them actually), and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

I got together with some of my best peeps from my small town on Friday night. While it’s nice to see what’s outside of the small town, to grow and expand my world and world view, there’s something valuable and irreplaceable about the sense of community and connection that helped shape who I am. It’s nice to have roots in a small town…
