When you have The Sassy Steel Magnolia spot light aimed in your direction, you’re not only sending out great inspiration for all, you’re taking over the Music Snack as well. Casey has a knack for finding artists and music that speak to you and immediately you’re hooked. She suggested a song by this artist a few weeks ago and I found myself listening to it on repeat over and over for nearly 3 days. (and I can’t stop replaying this song, too!) Turn your speakers up and get ready to smile. This one’s a good one!

I chose this song because not only is she one of my favorite artists (highly recommend entire Careless Love album), but the words to the song correlate with the time period in my life when I realized there was a life to be lived. And there was no better time than the present.

I’ll have to get her to come back soon, indeed. Make sure to stop by A Five Leaf Clover to say hi to Casey and her Savannah crew….there’s always something cookin down in that River Town!

Christian Louboutin PumpsWe all have our little tricks and tips to help boost our confidence. Maybe it’s a certain lipstick, an outfit, or the way we do our hair. We all have a few somethings in our bag.

One of the most common is a great pair of high heels. It’s a never lets you down, always faithful trick that for many automatically gives you more than just a few inches in the height department. Great for business meetings and first dates. Meeting the parents or front row fashion week. High heels are just something that must be on hand and available at will. I even have friends who’ve walked around their house, on a phone interview, wearing sweat pants..and high heels.

Now how do ya like that for a little C-Boost?

From the board room to the board walk & the bed room, a good pair of high heels will do way more than just boost your height.  Skeptical? Try it out this week. You won’t be disappointed!

If you google inspirational quotes a hundred sites would pop up, offering just the quote for you. It can be a little overwhelming trying to find a good one. For my daily dose of inspiration, I subscribed to daily emails provided by the web site The Daily Love (I also follow them here on twitter).  They do the research and send a handful of quotes to my inbox each morning. I usually tweet at least one quote a day from my emails – they’re that good.

Last Thursday, my email had a list of questions from Mastin, the creator of The Daily Love. I’ve seen a few of the questions in various email forwards before, but there was something about them being lined up, one after the other. They begged to be answered. Not just pondered, but answered. I just wasn’t sure if I was ready to ready my answers.

Here are Mastin’s questions from The Daily Love email on January 28, 2010:

If today was it, would you die knowing you did your best?

If tomorrow never came, would you be proud of the last thing you said to each person you love?

If “someday” was only “now”, would you do everything you’ve always put off?

If you knew you had a choice about what kind of life you could be living, would you choose different?

If you knew failure is impossible, what would you do?

If it were true that everyone you meet is you in another body, how would you treat them?

If love was the true currency of the Universe and the more you gave away the more you received, how would you spend it?

If fear were the biggest illusion and the greatest lie of all time, how would you choose to live your life?

If the Universe always supported a life lived towards achieving dreams, how big would you dream?

Normally these types of questions encourage you to ponder your life, but how often do you really sit down and try to answer them? Honestly and truthfully? It’s not as easy as you may think. It can be a real wake up call but it can also reaffirm the direction your life is going. Either way – these questions are worth taking the time to sit down and answer. Especially since it’s you in the driver’s seat….

After celebrating Gasparilla down in Tampa this past weekend, scallywags and big ships are on the mind. Pirates were infamous for making traitors walk the plank. And on the drive back up to my own city by the sea, I started to wonder….if they could do it, why can’t I? What’s stopping me from cleaning up ship? Confused? Take a look at it this way:

    Pirates were infamous for making

traitors ( aka-things / persons NOT helping to accomplish a goal / purpose)
Walk the Plank ( aka-get the hell OFF my ship & OUT of my way )

Make sense? I bet you’re thinking of a thing or two you wouldn’t mind making walk the plank in your life. There’s definitely a few things on my list that need to go take a swim and now seems like as good of time as any.

And besides, how on earth am I supposed to sail off into my sunset if my ship’s weighed down with too many anchors? Exactly.

A little personal act of Piracy couldn’t hurt here and there. Time to grab my Pirate Gear and get started..
