Don’t you just want to sing this song as loud as you possibly can sometimes?

Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like a Woman

The best thing about being a woman …. is her prerogative to have a little fun.

    That’s all I’m sayin’. Right, ladies?! ;)

Remember in yesterday’s post I mentioned my sporadic outbursts of dancing when I think no one’s watching? Well, here’s one of the songs that gets me every time. I learned a dance to the chorus of this song my sophomore year of college from my coach, Casey, and it’s stayed with me ever since. I hardly remember the steps she taught us but that doesn’t matter. I make it up as I go along. Enjoy!

I personally prefer the recorded version but couldn’t find it on youtube. But this one’s still awesome.

:: happy Wednesday, lovies. hope it’s a glamorous one. ::

No one around. It’s just me. No judgements. No worries. No expectations or deadlines. No one to call me a silly girl. No one to assume. No guards. No walls. Just me.

    And I’m completely free.

    And I feel undeniably sexy.

Some women feel this way when taking a bath. Some when running in the wee hours of the morning. Some while driving with the windows down. And others while cooking in the kitchen. It’s the moments when a woman feels 100%, inexplicably, unapologetically sexy. It creeps in when all guards are down. When optimum comfort levels are reached and the truth flows free of obstacles.

If you’re one of my many female readers, you know exactly what I’m talking about and just how wondrous these moments are. [If you're one of my male readers, then congratulations for getting a sneak peak into this one.] We all know our moments. And we all have our own personal reasons behind these moments. And even if they don’t make sense to anyone else, they make perfect sense to us.

For example, if you happen to catch me walking down the beach on a late Friday afternoon or out during my early morning walk/jogs around my neighborhood, odds are very likely you’re going to see me dancing at some point. I’m not performing for anyone. I’m not putting on a show. I’m dancing for me. Just me. That’s one of my moments. I’m in my own world, music coursing through my veins, absolutely free, completely vulnerable, feeling more alive and sexy than words can even describe, and I absolutely love every second of it.

I can’t deny it. And I’m not afraid to own it. (No matter how ridiculous or silly it may look / seem / sound / appear to others.) To me it is one of the most natural, empowering, amazing forces in the world. Being completely in the moment and unguarded, and at the same time confident and relaxed is the ultimate recipe in feeling truly sexy. No one can give that to me and no one can take that away from me. And I, for one, kind of like having that power.

Don’t get me wrong, high heels are great. Lingerie is fun. A doting companion makes life’s passion come alive. But when it comes to feeling unabashedly sexy – that’s up to me. Just me.

    Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I’m telling lies.
    I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.

    I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
    And to a man,
    The fellows stand or
    Fall down on their knees.
    Then they swarm around me,
    A hive of honey bees.
    I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
    The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.

    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can’t touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
    I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I’m a woman

    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.

    Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need of my care,
    ‘Cause I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
