It’s amazing how much of an extra boost this song can give you … whether it’s working out, walking in to a club, getting ready for a presentation, or preparing yourself for a night under the tents at Charleston Fashion Week.

Low and behold (I’m not even really sure what that means, but I feel like it fits on this one.) I’ve played it in all of those instances and many more. We’ve all got our bag of tricks, this song just happens to be one of mine.  Enjoy…..

Rihanna – Only Girl (In the World)

*I’m heading to CFW tonight as a +1 for Andrew. And if you know me, you know this is definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. Fish out of water? That might be a bit of an understatement. Bag of tricks up my sleeve? Always and forever ;)

See you at the tents, loves.

Since Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, here’s something to help get you in that luck of the Irish kind of mood.

I’m Shipping Up To Boston – Dropkick Murphys

Such a good song. Such a damn good song.

Here’s that Matchbox Twenty song I rambled on about a while back. Such a great song.

And quite timely, might I add. Enjoy!

    Matchbox Twenty – Mad Season

I’ve come undone …… in this Mad Season.

    Well said. Well said, indeed.

Last Sunday morning I downloaded the entire soundtrack to The Holiday on my phone. It is a full selection of musical scores by the genius that is Hans Zimmer. I’ll admit, I’ve had it playing in the background (mixed with the soundtrack of Midnight in Paris) for the past 36 hours, straight. Getting ready in the morning? Hans is by my side. Lunch time in the hospital cafeteria? Zimmer on the playlist. I wake up with his scores in my head and silently (ok sometimes, not so silently) hum the melodies to myself through out the day. I meant to get this one up and posted last night, but that just didn’t happen. Either way, here is this week’s Music Snack – a Hans Zimmer favorite of mine from The Holiday:

Gumption from The Holiday by Hans Zimmer

Now doesn’t that just put you in a good mood? For no reason other than it’s just a beautiful movie score? I think so too.

For the 3rd year in a row it’s time for a little Dr. John and his Litanie Des Saints. My reasoning in doing so can be found in last year’s post, part of which I’ve pasted below:

Why? Because I love this song. I love the artist. I love the sounds, the soul, the sway. I love the New Orleans feel it has. I love the message. I love the litany. I love the Lenten Season. I love it all.

That pretty much says it all. Enjoy!
