There’s something you should know about these Music Snacks. I plan them out. Weeks and weeks in advance. I plan them all out. Then inevitably – at the last minute – I go in for the change up. It never fails. No matter how much I try to stick to the schedule. Five out of six weeks it’s a last minute switch.

Such is the case today. It’s a bit rainy here in this City by the Sea and I have been loving every second of it. With the rain comes my token Rainy Day Pandora station – Amos Lee – and with that station comes one of my most favorite songs – today’s music snack – which has actually popped up countless amounts of times these past few days on my radio, iTunes, tv … I even heard someone humming it last night in the grocery!

So whether it’s raining when you look out your window, blazing hot on the other side of your door, or the perfect chilled temperature in your office, take a break for a few minutes – relax a little – throw all your worries aside – push play – and think of the best thing that ever happened to you. *even if it hasn’t happened yet.

Driving to work this morning it was cloudy, drizzly rain that would turn into larger rain spouts and back to drizzled mist. Looking out my office window, the conditions haven’t much improved as I believe the sun might be taking a day off here in the Lowcountry. I would rather be back home in bed but, such is life.

Out of no where this song makes its way into the corners of my mind. I say corners because I couldn’t think of the song itself, only a few lyrics here and there and not even a full lyric at that. I searched when I got to work and immediately found what I had been trying to hum in the car. A perfect rainy day song for all of you to enjoy. And for those of you who aren’t watching the rain fall outside your window, keep this one in mind for when it does.

    i ♥ a good summer storm.

:: they spring up in mid-afternoon & last from 2 minutes to 2 hours. there’s just something about summer storms. my only hope is that 1 day instead of watching them from my office building and dreaming, i’ll be watching them in a gorgeous outdoor patio room {like the ones below} sipping a sweet summer time drink, listening to billie holiday, writing letters to dear diary or reading myself away. ::
