    Mah-velous Magnolia

I usually try to make 1 to 2 Happy Hours with my girls a week. This past week was a rarity for me – I made 3. All three with different groups of amazing girlfriends, all three happy hour conversations uniquely fabulous, and all three left me feeling absolutely humbled by the incredible amount of love, support and laughter surrounding each and every one of them.

And so this week’s mah-velous magnolia badge goes out to the handful of hours that help make the work week bearable. The time when you can let your hair down on a week day and laugh your troubles away with good friends and good bubbles. Indeed, this badge goes out those special hours …… and the friends who put the happy in them.

I’ll raise my glass to that any day.

    Cheers!

PhotobucketToday the badge goes out to someone you’ve heard me mention a time or two (ok let’s be serious – like a gazillion times probably) but that’s simply because she is my absolute favorite person in the whole wide world – and it just so happens that yesterday was her birthday. This week’s Mah-velous Magnolia is none other than my Big Sister, Jessica.

Now I could sit and talk on and on about how we used to (and sometimes still) get into the biggest cat fights or how she steps in when my mind often steps out or how looking back all those times I was Jessica’s Little Sister wasn’t too bad or … you name it.

Simply put – she’s my favorite person, my best friend, and my Sista Sista – and that sums it all up.

    • Always my Sister, Always my Friend •

Cheers to beginning a new decade!

    loves you

Photobucket My dear friend Casey is coming up to this city by the sea for a visit tomorrow. I’m so incredibly excited I can hardly wait! You may remember the guest post she wrote for us titled White Russians and the Big Lebowski back in the Spring where she revealed one of the most pivotal times in her life. I’ve been counting down the days till her arrival and with great anticipation I send out this week’s Mah-velous Magnolia badge to the phenomenal woman behind the works of A Five-Leaf Clover.

From the moment I first met Casey, (you can zip over to her guest post to find out a little more on how we know each other) she has always been a source of unmeasurable inspiration. You know those people who always seem to find the unique, artistic, beauty in things? The ones who see the other side of the rock? That’s Casey and that’s one big reason I adore being around her. That and she brings a sense of home in a still often unfamiliar city by the sea. She helps keep me grounded and a little less all over the place….and since she’s the closest in driving distance, that definitely in comes in handy!

Cheers to a wonderful weekend to each and every one of you!

This week the badge goes out to an insanely talented friend of mine, Christina Mortti and

You may remember her from my post, I feel pretty., when she did my first ever photo shoot, producing the pictures you see all over my site. I am honored to say I was her first official photo shoot *bragging rights in my eyes, if you will* and since then she has continued on to more photo shoots and grown her portfolio to an incredible array of photographs with people, places and events.

Like many of you, I’ve been snapped in a ridiculous amount of pictures over the years, most of which you see and almost faint at how heinous they turn out (hello – school pictures grades K-12 I’m talking to you) but when you get in front of the Good Graces camera, you just seem to calm down and take on the attitude of the person behind the lens.

More than your regular style, smile and shoot types of photos, Christina really captures the livelihood, the beauty and the emotion of the moment.

Now you may think I’m biased on that, but look through her photos and see for yourself. It’s no easy task to get little kids to be comfortable and act themselves when you’re trying to take pictures of them, now is it? Or even catching those grown ups when they’re  out playing like little kids at heart.

I have always been passionate about photography and especially love candid photos. I enjoy getting to know my clients and capturing who they really are.
